Support Through Court — Southend & the national online service for Essex
REVIEWED BY: Sean McNamara on 2026-08-27
What this service is
Support Through Court is an independent charity providing free practical and emotional support to people facing court without a lawyer. Volunteers help you understand procedure, organise papers, fill in forms, write statements and accompany you into hearings. They are not solicitors and do not give legal advice or represent you.
Southend & Essex coverage
Per the charity's official locations page, Southend is one of its listed offices (serving the Southend area — see the office page for its current base and hours, since court buildings in the area have consolidated at Chelmsford). For clients anywhere in Essex, the national helpline (0300 081 0006) and Support Through Court Online (remote appointments) cover everything an office does.
How to use it
1. Book or enquire through the national helpline 0300 081 0006 (Mon–Fri 9:30–16:30) 2. Or via the Southend office page / online booking 3. Bring your case papers to your appointment
How it fits your family court case
Support at every stage — before a hearing, on the day, and after. Pair this page with our Chelmsford court guide (the main Essex family venue) and our Support Through Court national page.
