Regional financial remedy courts — where to send your Form A

REVIEWED BY: Sean McNamara on 2026-08-30

If you are applying for a financial remedy after divorce or dissolution (property, lump sums, maintenance, pensions), you don't send your application to your local court. You send it to your regional financial remedy court (FRC). This guide explains the structure and lists the regions with their official contact emails, as published on gov.uk. It is general information, not legal advice.

How the system works

  • You send your notice of financial application (Form A) — with the £321 fee (from 13 July 2026) or a Help with Fees reference — to your regional financial remedy court
  • All other financial remedy documents and forms go to the central processing address: HMCTS Financial Remedy, PO Box 12746, Harlow, CM20 9QZ
  • The general enquiry number for all FRCs is 0300 123 5577 (Mon–Fri, 8:30am–5pm)
  • Your hearing may be listed at a local hearing venue near you rather than the regional court itself — but all enquiries go through the regional court unless your letter says otherwise

Local hearing venues (examples)

Each region lists local venues where hearings may sit — for example, London cases may be heard at Barnet, Brentford, Bromley, Croydon, East London Family Court, Edmonton, Kingston, Romford, Uxbridge or Willesden; the North & West Yorkshire region uses Bradford, Harrogate, Huddersfield, Scarborough, Skipton, Wakefield and York; Cheshire & Merseyside venues include Birkenhead, Chester, Crewe and St Helens. Some venues have their own family enquiry emails (for example family.cardiff.countycourt@justice.gov.uk in South East Wales) — the full lists are on the official gov.uk page.

Practical checklist

  • [ ] Confirm which region you fall in before filing Form A
  • [ ] Include the fee or your EX160 Help with Fees reference
  • [ ] Send everything except Form A to the Harlow PO Box
  • [ ] Direct questions to your regional court, not the local venue
  • [ ] Keep the case number from your acknowledgment letter on all correspondence
