## Fee remission (EX160)

If you're on a **low income** or receive **qualifying benefits**, you may not have to pay
court fees at all. See our [EX160 guide](ex160-fee-waiver-guide.html) for the full process.

## What's free (no fee)

- **FL401** (non-molestation / occupation orders) — free because of the abuse connection
- **EX160** (fee remission application) — free
- **Public law children cases** (care proceedings) — no fee for parents
- **SGO applications** — no fee for special guardianship orders

## Help with fees

- Apply using **EX160** before or at the same time as the fee
- You'll need: income details, benefits information, savings information
- If refused, you can **challenge** the decision with more evidence
- See our [EX160 guide](ex160-fee-waiver-guide.html)
